I was searching something on internet today and found a category on English wikipedia named physics institutes. Wikipedia editors edit a categories related to topic on the article. You can find that category in any article at the bottom. This category puts similar topics in a list. So if you want to search topics of similar category, you will not face problems. So, now a days people have started to distinguish institutes in sub-categories of physics too. So, above category includes 3 categories as of today:
- Astrophysics institutes : It includes national and international institutes which work mostly in the area of astrophysics.
- CERN : European Organization for Nuclear Research is one of the biggest physics related institute of world. It is mainly famous for Experimental High Energy Physics work but as subsidiary, people work for technology and other things also.
- Physics laboratories : This is a list of institutes which does mostly experimental work. Because if give a theory and that is not possible to confirm experimentally, then your theory is useless in physics and you are not more than a philosopher.
This category includes more than 100 pages which includes Indian and abroad institutes related to physics and doing a lot of research work. If you are interested in physics, you should have a look for these institutes and read a little bit about these institutes. Reading little will give you information about the things which are going around you. Here I am writing about some of Indian physics institutes:
- HRI : Harish-Chandra Research Institute is an indian institution in Allahabad/Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. It is mainly dedicated to research in Mathematics and Theoretical physics.
- IISER : Indian Institute of Science Education and Research; 7 centres are there, dedicated to research in physics and take students from 12 standard. These 7 centres are: IISER Bhopal, IISER Kolkata, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, IISER Tirupati, IISER Berhampur
- SINP : Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics is one of the premier institute of research in physics in India. It's name is dedicated to Indian scientist Meghnad Saha.
- VECC : Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre also dedicated to physics research and you will see the biggest cyclotron of India in this institute.
In this list, I have included a very few. In my coming blogs, I shall include many things about research institutes. If you want a blog on some specific institute or have any query, please write bellow in comment. I shall update according to requirements.
