As it is mentioned about URATPG 2019 and it's 2nd phase in previous blogs. Today, first list of URATPG 2019 is out. For all subjects, full lists can be found on the following link: http://www.uniraj.ac.in/examination/uratpg2019/1st-admlist-2019.php
This is first time that you will find many categories in the list. I am trying to explain all the categories.
- General: This is not a category. Any candidate can appear in this list. This is the list of candidates which are topper in marking system (here 30% undergraduate marks + 70% entrance test marks).
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 124th amendment bill 2019, in Indian constitution, provided 10% additional quota for the general category candidates. For this category, candidate's annual family income must be less than ₹ 8 lakhs per annum. His family must not own more than 5 acres of agriculture land. The residential flat area should be below 1000 sq ft. The residential plot area should be below 100 square yards in municipality sector and 200 square yards in non-notified municipality sectors.
- More Backward Castes (MBC): In February 2019, Rajasthan legislative assembly changed the Other backward caste quota divided in two parts. One is original OBC and 5% out of that is given to some special castes like Gurjars and four other communities. Some departments shown this category as Special Backward Castes (SBC).
- Other Backward Castes (OBC): It is well understood from previous years.
- Scheduled Castes (SC): Well understood from previous years.
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): Well understood from previous years.
- Physical Handicap (PH): It is a system which gives reservation inside above categories. Since, it is not an extra reservation but it comes in each and every category.
- Outright: This is not reserved category. This is given to candidates who have something special in any field and for that they got some notable prize like Rashtrapati Award from president of India or something on same level. These candidates will get selection above the seats allocated to any institute. Since, these candidates will not affect number of seats on any post if institute doesn't change their rules.
- Ward quota: I didn't find this rule anywhere in the list but it is also a quota like outright. For this candidate has to be dependent (mainly son, daughter or wife) on any employee of university. They can get direct approval from registrar and get admission in any department or centre or college.
This is whole about different categories. If you find any category other than above. Please write in comment. We shall try to figure out.
