Motive behind establishing IISERs

To integrate and promote interdisciplinary science education and research.


Goal of IISERs

Enable students to shape the nation by inventing and implementing sustainable solutions for societal problems through research in science.

      (5) Pune (Maharashtra)
      (6) Thiruvanathapuram 
           (Kerala)
      (7) Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh)

Nature - Public institutions (Govt.of India funded)


Admission Procedure

A) For UG courses: After 12th - 

For UG (Under Graduate) courses candidates are admitted to IISER's BS-MS Programme through below-mentioned three channels:
1. KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana)
2. JEE (Advanced) 
3. SCB (State and Central Board) 

B) For integrated PhD (i- PhD) courses: After UG (Under Graduation) -

The admission is based on IIT-JAM / JEST score. The shortlisted candidates are then called for an interview process on basis of which the seats are allotted to the candidates.

C) For PhD courses: After PG (Post Graduation) - 

Candidates seeking admission to the PhD programme need to have a valid score in specialisation-specific entrance exams like CSIR-UGC-JRF/ GATE/ INSPIRE PhD/ JEST etc. along with a good academic record. The shortlisted candidates are called for a screening test and an interview round basis which the seats are allotted to the applicants.

    3. Very nice information about IISER's. They are nice research Institutes in India but still the students from rural background are not much aware about these.
      A very good effort by SAPN Education Physics.
